This November, Vancouver’s best and brightest in user experience and design will be celebrated at the annual UX Awards.
The event is an opportunity to showcase anyone who works in the industry, from startups, freelancers, agencies, and user-centric enterprises, and showcase the work and experiences they create.
The awards, entering their fifth consecutive year, feature the following awards:
UX for Work: Highlighting any solution that provides a great experience for people within organizations.
UX for Products: Showcasing the Vancouver-based products that enrich and engage a wide range of domains.
UX for Emerging Experiences: Paying tribute to the emerging interactions and experiences that come with the new wave of technology – wearables, voice experiences, bots, virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.
UX for Good: User experiences that are created to help a non-profit organization achieve its goals or serve its members.
UX by Students: Celebrating the up-and-coming in the field and their work done in courses, extra-curricular activities, and portfolio project.
UX for Marketing: Honouring the best in websites, e-commerce, contests, and market-driven campaigns.
People’s Choice: Through social media and the awards website, the Vancouver UX community will vote on the best experiences from among the finalists, across all categories.
Best UX: The grand-prize category, selected from a juried selection of finalists, recognizing the best in UX that the Lower Mainland has to offer.
Award submissions will be evaluated based on elegance, clarity, innovation, impact, and emotion. A panel of judges, representing different sectors of the industry, will score each submission.
Everyone is welcome to the awards night, taking place on Thursday, November 29. Meanwhile, the public is also asked to view the finalists and cast their vote for the awards online.
The event will take place at The Imperial from 6 to 11 pm. Tickets are available online for $50.
