This might be news a number of people have been looking forward to, which is the addition of Star Trek: The Next Generation content to Ubisoft’s Star Trek: Bridge Crew game. With Star Trek: Bridge Crew players can don a VR headset to become a Starfleet bridge officer and play with others on either the U.S.S. Aegis or U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (the ship from The Original Series). It supports playing with the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality Headsets, such as the Lenovo Explorer.
With this The Next Generation expansion, players can enter the bridge of the Galaxy Class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. Besides this new content, two new modes have been added to Ongoing Voyages. One is Patrol, where players can openly explore, encountering enemies and objects as they travel, and Resistance where you are being chased by a Borg cube and must complete objectives prior to the showdown. Another change to game coming with this is the replacement of Engineering to Operations, where one must assign crewmembers to different stations, enabling features like precision targeting, shield modulation, and repairs.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew – The Next Generation is available on PC and PlayStation 4, with PlayStation VR and cross-platform support, for a suggested price of $14.99.
